Shop for Wine by Wine Style

We decided to make buying wine easier by using styles. A diehard wine-drinker might call one wine fruity and another dry, but what does that mean. Aren't all wines fruity since they are made from grapes? How can a liquid beverage taste dry? These terms mean little to those who have not tasted many, many wines. We hope that our descriptions will help you select just the right wine for you.

Crisp White Wine
Naturally light and invigorating with sharp zesty acidity. Sauvignon Blanc is one of the best known varieties, but is only one of several types we consider a crisp white.

Fruity White Wine
Lush fruit flavors, ranging from tropical fruit flavors to stone fruit flavors such as peaches and apricots, combined with soft, well balanced acid structures. Pinot Gris is an example of light fruity wines.

Creamy White Wine
A rich wine with smooth texture like that of melted butter, often referring to Chardonnay. This category of whites have been aged in oak, which adds flavors and textures that complement the fruit with a creamy vanilla flavor.

Sparkling Wines
Bubbly is the perfect wine for celebrating all special occasions. Flavors on sparkling wines range from dry and crisp to round and creamy. You will find sparkling wine in the U.S., Prosecco in Italy, Cava in Spain and Champagne in France.

Light Red Wines
These delicate reds are light to medium bodied with limited aromas, flavors, and texture. Lighter style reds such as Sangiovese, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo or Rose "unfinished red wine" are all great food wines.

Fruity Red Wines
A young red ripe red wine with vivacious flavors and soft tannins. Fruity reds can be light in style such as Gamay (Beaqujolais) to full bodied Zinfandel and Australian Shiraz or Syrah from Central and Southern California.

Big Red Wines
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Syrah are all complex full bodied wines with intense flavors which are rich and deep, yet balanced and showing finese. One will experience a variety and range of aromas and bouquets with multiple layers of flavor with these wines.

Sweet Wines
Sweet wines are dessert in the bottle- a delicious and decadent way to end a meal or pair with cheese. Dessert wines are made in a variety of ways, varying in level of sweetness, intensity, alcohol and color. Something to satisfy any level of sweet tooth.
