Shop for Wine by Varietal
The word "Varietal" refers to the grape that the wine is made from. While not all wine is made from grapes, most serious wines are. In most wine growing regions in the United States, the State requires that if a winery uses the grape varietal on the label it must have a minimum percent concentration of that grape varietal. As an example, in Oregon it must be at least 90% whereas in California and Washington the concentration of that varietal must be at least 75%. On the other hand, most European wines are referred to by the region where they were produced. As examples, in France you will find Rhone and Bordeaux, in Italy you will find Chianti, in Germany you will find Piesporter, etc.
GoodWine4Less.com will not always have every possible varietal available since we are constantly looking for the best prices. When we find fabulous buys, we will add that wine to our listing and depending on the varietal, it will be added to that section of our store.
